Torana is a gold-tone open ring on which two pavé-set bars stand facing one another across a narrow gap, rising from shoulders domed and pavé-set to match. Torana is the free-standing ceremonial gateway of Indian temple architecture, which is the shape the two posts make. Best worn for cocktails and evenings.

Put it on last
After perfume, lotion and hairspray have dried. Alcohol and oils are what dull a plated finish faster than anything else.

Take it off first
Before you sleep, shower, swim or exercise. Chlorine, salt water and sweat are all harder on a finish than ordinary daily wear.

Wipe it down after wearing
A dry, soft cloth removes the skin oils that cause tarnish. No chemical cleaners and no ultrasonic baths on plated or stone-set pieces.

Store pieces separately
In the pouch or box it arrived in, away from damp. Loose in a drawer, pieces scratch each other.

The story
About Torana
The gap is the design. Two posts and the space between them is a gateway, and the eye completes the arch that is not there — which is exactly how a torana works, and why the ring reads as architecture rather than as a broken band.
Every visible surface is pavé, including the curve of the shoulders, so there is no plain metal anywhere on the face of the ring. That makes it heavy on light and best worn on a bare hand: the posts stand proud enough that a ring on the neighbouring finger will catch on them.
