Established in 1990 by the late Haji Mohammed Yusuf Kapadia, The Luxury Yard was born out of a passion for perfumery — and a desire to make fragrances, accessories and jewellery worth keeping.
Continuing his father’s legacy, A. Rashid Kapadia has grown the house into a modern luxury brand known for two things: unique blends, and timeless designs. It remains a haven for people who care about what they wear and what it is made of.

01 · The beginning
A foundation laid in 1990
Haji Mohammed Yusuf Kapadia spent years learning what a fragrance is actually made of before he ever sold one. What he built with that expertise was less a shop than a standard: a place where perfumes are crafted to tell stories, accessories are designed to make a statement, and jewellery is meant to be handed down rather than replaced.

02 · The journey
Learned in other people's markets
Rashid's own passion for perfumery began on the road with his father. In every city they traded in he found his way to the local markets and the small boutique perfumeries — sampling, asking questions, learning how a blend is actually built, and listening to the story behind each scent. Very little of what he knows was taught in a classroom.

Luxury should not have to be exclusive
The deeper Rashid went into niche perfumery, the clearer one pattern became. People wanted unique, high-quality fragrance — and kept being priced out of it. The materials did not explain the numbers; the labels did. He took the obvious conclusion seriously: everyone deserves to wear an exceptional scent, and nobody should have to break the bank to do it.
That is the sentence the rest of this business is built on, and the reason every piece here is quoted rather than listed at a fixed price.
04 · Unique blends
Blended to be remembered
Materials are bought whole and blended in small batches — oud, rose, musk — and built on oil rather than alcohol, so a fragrance stays where it was applied instead of lifting off the skin within the hour. Each blend is curated to evoke something specific: a memory, a mood, an impression that outlasts the evening.

The same thinking carries into the jewellery and the accessories. Tradition and modernity blended rather than chosen between: bangles, earrings, chains, bracelets, rings and sets designed to be worn often and kept for years — pieces that adorn with poise instead of shouting for attention.
