Gilded Bloom

The flower is the whole design and it is done in brushed rather than polished metal, so it reads as a soft gold surface with a pearl set into it instead of as another cluster of stones. Against that matte petal the crystal fringe below is the only bright thing in the piece, which is what gives it depth — the eye goes to the flower first and the movement second.

The necklace is a fixed collar, so the bloom sits exactly at the hollow of the throat every time rather than sliding wherever the drape takes it. The earrings repeat the flower at a smaller scale with the same fringe beneath. It is a warm, lighter alternative to a full stone set, and it wears particularly well against ivory and cream.
